Overview
Minecraft is a sandbox game of exploration, survival and construction, created in Stockholm and developed by Mojang Studios. Its procedurally generated worlds made of blocks have become a shared space for several generations of players, in classrooms as much as living rooms.
01
The Game
There is no single objective. You can survive the first night in a hastily dug shelter, spend months building a cathedral, or wire together elaborate machines. That openness is the game's greatest strength: it becomes whatever its players bring to it.
02
Gameplay
Survival mode asks you to gather resources, craft tools and stay alive; Creative mode removes the danger and gives you unlimited materials. Every world is different, generated from a seed, and an enormous range of community-made content extends it further.
03
Multiplayer
Players can share a world with friends locally, on dedicated servers or through Realms subscriptions. Online play on consoles may require a platform membership. Family settings on each platform can limit chat and purchases.
