Overview
EVE Online is a science-fiction massively multiplayer online game from CCP Games in Reykjavík. Unusually, nearly all players inhabit the same single universe, where economies, alliances and wars are driven largely by the players themselves.

The Game
EVE is famous for stories that sound invented: betrayals planned over months, battles involving thousands of ships, markets manipulated by player corporations. It is less a game you finish than a place you live in.

Gameplay
Players fly ships, mine, trade, manufacture, explore and fight. Skills train over real time, and losses are meaningful — a destroyed ship is gone. The learning curve is famously steep, but there are many ways to contribute.

Multiplayer
EVE is entirely online. Joining a player corporation is the best way to learn; free 'Alpha' access is available, with an optional subscription for full access.
